What To Do If You Have No Hot Water?
Having no hot water can be extremely inconvenient, especially during the cold winter months. There are some minor central heating issues which you may be able to resolve yourself, before you call for heating engineers. Here are some common breakdowns that can occur, for you to check before you seek professional help.

Is There a Problem with the Power?
Check to see if your other gas and heating appliances are functioning correctly. Make sure a switch hasn’t tripped at the fuse box as this would cut power to your boilers and central heating system.
Is the Pilot Light On?
Check to see if your pilot light is on or if your permanent pilot light is out. If so try to relight it using the boiler manufacturer’s instructions. Is It a Water Pressure Issue?

Is the Thermostat Set High Enough?

Is the Timer Correct?

Do You Have a Water Tank or Cylinder?

Does the Boiler Need a Reset?
Sometimes you may need to reset your boiler, especially if there has been a fault code appear, by following the boilers manufacturer’s instructions. These will show you how to reset you boiler. Does Turning It Off and On Again Help?
If your hot water is still not working, even after checking all of the above you can try switching the boiler off for a few seconds then turning it back on to see if this cures the issue.
Could You Have a Frozen Pipe?
Especially during the colder winter months, you may find that the boilers condensate discharge pipe has frozen. You can thaw it gently with some warm water or contact a fully Gas Safe registered heating engineer to inspect why the condensate pipe is freezing. Only Get Hot Water When the Heating Is On?
